This phrase, we said an American who sat with us in this small airplane. He had a t-shirt Tahiti (Tahiti). Yes, he had been in French Polynesia, and still praised the island.

To be honest, we do not really imagine what awaits us on this island, because information on the Internet is not very much, but what if there is, then she or outdated, or it is very scary. This person was there in 2008, and probably a little fib, we were expecting. Such a clean and tidy place that after our spring "landscapes" I want to cry, eh. And indeed, like a garden, not an island, I really love parks, gardens, greens, flowers, so when I fly there, I’m sure this place will cause a lot of positive emotions.

At the expense of rumors - I agree, you should not believe and draw conclusions until you see everything with your own eyes. When I was going to Goa, I also began to look at what was there, how, and what I hadn’t read, but in fact everything turned out to be much simpler, just basic security measures are needed everywhere, even in Fiji, even in Goa, even in Chelyabinsk.

It would be more if such places not touched by "civilization" seem somehow unreal.

Amazing quality is expensive, such whole ones)) Probably it will be great to ride a scooter or a bicycle, or maybe just run, I can already imagine the picture - morning, dawn, local birds sing, people still sleep, quietly, picturesquely, and you run or ride, contemplating all this charm, but one thought in my head - how cool it is to LIVE in this World.

Photos of local residents make you smile, so happy, satisfied and kind, the impression is that go to their house, with some kind of request, they will not only help, but also feed, drink and put to bed, carefully covering with a blanket))

Having read the article to the end, I realized that I really want to live there, I wonder if it is possible to stay there for a long time, do I need a visa or something else? Is it expensive to live there at all?
It would be great if the author gave some guidelines, if possible, about the prices of food, housing.

I noticed a funny thing. You look at some pictures (there are very few of them) - the feeling that you came to your cottage, what kind of Fiji is there. You look at everyone else - of course, exotic exotic :) Fijian Airlines - it sounds so cute. And the airport is such a little toy) It's funny about the taxi driver) Interestingly, there were those who wanted to save money and walk?)) Of course, Taveuni is a great place. Moreover, both in the eyes of the American, and in the eyes of our tourist. Imagine the nervous negative energy of a metropolis at rush hour. Everyone rushes from work according to their own affairs, and it’s so ridiculous that everyone has affairs of incredible importance. Now, imagine Fiji at rush hour. Do they even have such a concept there?)) I doubt that there will be something in common :) So it turns out that not only can nature not be more exotic and the weather is a dream, but silence is in the soul due to the lack of stuffy crowds of megacities. In my opinion, here it is - happiness. Find a job in Fiji (like this Maxim) and live there for at least a couple of years to compare your state of mind before and during. Moreover, there are no imposed values, there is no need for a large salary. Nobody chases each other. Everything you need at your fingertips. And the locals are clearly freer from prejudice. And if you suddenly get bored - fly to Hong Kong, there you’ll be bored as you can and will soon want to go back from such a fun life to the garden island) In short, I was always a fan of places like Fiji, but I was afraid of a little of the fauna there. But it turns out that there are no snakes, and only reef sharks. I read about them that they are not dangerous to humans and generally not aggressive. So, Fiji is, in my opinion, a paradise for downshifters and not only for them. For example, if you are some kind of highly paid freelancer (designer, copywriter, photographer), then you can feel very comfortable in such a country. Especially if your customers are mainly from a country with high purchasing power)) Not the newest and most original life hack, but knowing and doing and knowing and not doing are completely different things. Yes, even if you are unemployed, I think the Fijians will not leave you in trouble, they will shelter you for the first time until you get a job. I’m wondering, by the way, were there rains on Taveuni while you were there? The photo does not show cloudy weather, with the exception of a few photos, but you can’t say that it is going to rain. Although, it seems to me that in a place like Fiji, and the rain seems like something welcome.

The story is really very interesting, so I also want to share my impressions. I live in Fiji for part of the year, so I had a chance to visit simply unique and absolutely untouched places that, fortunately or unfortunately, are not shown to tourists ... So about sharks and snakes - snakes are not found where people live, really very afraid !!! As for the sharks, I saw only very small ones, this species is the size of a carp, so they can not cause harm. The most dangerous thing you can find here is the slopes, and you can even swim next to them, it’s quite safe, most importantly, inadvertently, not step on one of them !!! If you follow some safety rules, then everything will be great! In addition to the divine beauty of nature, we must pay tribute to cultural traditions, which we often forget about when visiting another country ... If you stay in a village (in simpler cities) - girls should not look at men !!! This is an occasion for them! No open knees and shoulders are a sign of disrespect ... Fijians are very friendly, they give the guest the best food, it often happens that they give the last, so it is our responsibility to respect their culture!

I am sincerely glad that the author of the blog did not meet sharks or snakes on Taveuni. It would be unpleasant if the island did not live up to its expectations. By the way, I also looked at your first trip to Fiji. Even then I paid attention to Fijian airplanes (the language does not dare to call them airplanes, they are so small and neat).
The phrase that Taveuni from an airplane is similar to the other islands, but this deceptive impression made me smile and freeze in anticipation of something unusual. The meeting with a Russian from Chelyabinsk living in Taveuni did not surprise me at all. The fate of our compatriots can be abandoned anywhere. Fiji is very beautiful, why not live there? Each picture of this photo report will confirm my words about the beauty of these islands. The juiciness of greenery and the blue of the sky is difficult to convey in words. Better watch. I dreamed of going to Taveuni from childhood, as soon as I saw this cute island in a movie or in the news - I no longer remember, but I remember that on television. And as soon as I finished school, got a job, worked for a year and deserved my long-awaited vacation, I decided to take it there, because I saved up the money for the trip for a whole year. When the plane landed, I never saw so much green color in my life - there were so much green around that I was just thrilled. And, as I look at the successful photos that the author laid out, I even more want to return that wonderful time when I was there. I flew alone, but already on the plane I got acquainted with whom we visited the most awesome places there. So flying alone is not at all boring as the company always exists. The island is very beautiful, but alas, not at all clean. Good thing the hotel was clean and tidy. I noticed several species of insanely beautiful birds there, and so far I still have not found out what they are called. And the water seemed to shimmer in many colors, somehow fabulous. True, the water was cold and I don’t even know what it could be connected with. I will definitely come back in the future again! Thanks to the author for the wonderful memories!

The author really did a tremendous job. He did not just put photos for public access, he wrote a very interesting and exciting story. I was also lucky to visit the island of Taveuni. Last fall, my husband and I flew there on a honeymoon.
I also want to share with you our impressions. We stayed at the Taveuni Island Resort & Spa. I can talk about this hotel forever and only all the best. Everything is arranged in it at the highest levels. The owners of this hotel are New Zealanders. Everything is done in it so that your vacation turns into just a fairy tale. The son of the hostess of the hotel, simply did not leave a single step away from us, all the time he tried to entertain us, inventing a variety of entertainments and excursions to the most beautiful places of the island. Houses or, as they are also called, "villas" incredibly chic view from them opens simply divine, staff, many waterfalls and flowers. In Fiji - great opportunities for water sports - diving, fishing, we dived several times near the coast) Corals and numerous inhabitants of the coastal zone amazed us with their incredible beauty.
Also, my husband and I visited their most Hindu temple - Sri Siva Subramaniya. It is rightfully considered the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. This is something fascinating, it is a large multi-colored pyramid, which is decorated with magnificent ornaments. Its height is 30 m.
In the city of Savu-Savu on the island of Vanua Levu, we visited the hot springs, there are so many of them that they simply hit in the middle of the city. When you walk through the streets of the city, you will notice steam that is knocked out directly from under the asphalt. We even saw how one woman steamed food)
Our vacation was very eventful, the son of the hostess of the hotel arranged for us a boat trip along the Sigatoka River. It was unforgettable, we sailed along the picturesque shores, on which small local villages were located) Children playing near the shore, waved us friendly))
The most memorable of course was a visit to the Zip Fiji attraction. He represented a certain system of cables that are stretched on the tops of trees. At first I was very afraid, as it was necessary to rush over the tops of the trees of a tropical island) But then my husband still persuaded me. I will never forget these feelings!
Now I look at these photos and nostalgia finds me. So I want to feel this warm tropical wind again)

Last year, thanks to my parents, I had the opportunity to fly to the island of Taveuni. I will not tell you all the difficulties that arose during the planning of a trip and following a route. I’ll tell you from the moment the aircraft began to land at the place of arrival.
The plane is just beginning to reduce its height to a bird's-eye view and the outlines of the island of Taveuni appear in the Pacific Ocean. And the lower the plane goes down, the more you realize that you have already fallen in love with this island, and your childhood dream of visiting a paradise beach from an advertisement for famous chocolate is about to come true. You are counting minutes, seconds with a rapid heartbeat and growing enthusiasm - a landing gear strike on the landing gear. Hooray! I flew to Fiji. Going down the ramp, from the first moment I was captured by a riot of exotic colors and local flavor.
Frankly, one week on the island seemed to me not enough. I managed to see cascades of magnificent waterfalls, I was on a mirror-clear and charming mountain lake, I went to a farm where pearls are grown. And of course, unforgettable bathing. Beautiful corals, fish, stingrays. Once I saw a large flock of dolphins, a snake and a huge turtle. In the Red Sea, I have not seen this. For lovers of diving or snorkeling, this is a paradise. But even a small part of what I saw on Taveuni will leave a lot of pleasant impressions for life.
But besides the enchanting nature and beautiful beaches, Taveuni attracted by the responsiveness and kindness of the local natives. Each of them is smiling and sincerely glad that you visited this paradise island. The impression is that they are very hardworking, friendly and honest people who are always ready to help you (although not always for free).
Rest in general was not cheap even without a flight. Accommodation per day in a small bungalow (although it is said loudly) - 110 dollars. You can find housing and more expensive, but this does not make much sense. Food - about $ 50 per day per person (almost all products are imported from Australia, therefore not cheap). I generally keep quiet about the excursions, but it was worth it.

Photos and beckon to visit this wonderful island! Beauty from a bird's eye view is simply not likely. Most of all, of course, I am fascinated by the green leaves of palm trees and pure clear water. I even envy the author of this photo essay.
The island of Fiji, not only beautiful, but in some places untouched nature, is the dream of a man who wants to not only relax, but also to feel hundreds of steps closer to nature.
Personally, I looked through these wonderful and charming photographs, I only wanted to relax on Fiji Island, and nowhere else! Judging by the photo report, the prices are quite real, and the impressions received from the trip to this island are worth it.
Each year, choosing a place to rest was guided only by the advice of friends. If rest in the winter, then Egypt, and in the summer Turkey. Enough monotony! This year only Fiji.
I think that the local population is very friendly and friendly towards guests on their island. And also, with great pleasure, I will taste not only their fruits, but also try local delicacies.
But perhaps there will be those to whom the idea of a trip to this beautiful place does not seem quite attractive. Of course, I understand that not everyone wants to travel around places that are not comfortable roads and live in hotels without super comfortable conditions. But, after all, it's Fiji! and that's it!
In general, I personally will be happy to visit this "heaven on earth." Beautiful nature, clear and transparent water, beaches that stretch for kilometers, hospitable people, exotic fruits and animals, affordable prices and acceptable living conditions. For me, these are essential things when choosing a place to rest.
I believe that the author of the photo essay revealed enough in his report in order to understand whether it is worth going to Fiji. But in truth, many who read the negative and outdated information are beginning to fear such places. Do not be afraid, "who does not risk, he does not drink champagne."
I will venture and advise my acquaintances. Perhaps having gone to rest once, we will want to return to this beautiful island every year. "Beautiful place" must be made the motto of this island. I have never seen so much green in my life, although I am a resident of the boundless steppes. The top view is just mesmerizing. I am allergic and greens a little afraid, although I do not think that there are my allergens. Not at all surprised that there were a lot of Russians on the island, our people feel not expensive, successful places. I will not lie, having learned about snakes, I would have bypassed the island, and from the mere mention of sharks, I would not have approached the water. Here you are well done, they did not take the word and took the risk. I also drew attention to poverty, it descends from heaven to earth. On the one hand there is an unparalleled nature, and on the other hand there are old houses, a dirty supermarket, children with bags. I love waterfalls, they fascinate me, I love to wander the paths, explore new places, look at wild birds. The roads there are really better than ours, smooth and without holes. The only thing that confused me was not a single swimmer, the beaches are empty. Is the sea cold or some other reason? Now I want to find out if a visa is needed there, how much is a flight, and whether any vaccinations need to be given, whether there are pharmacies and similar trifles. You are the first who managed to show the place so beautiful that I wanted to get there. Thanks for the idea for a summer holiday.

Photos are awesome. Exactly what you need in early spring, when there is a dull gray city outside and slush. We have been planning to master this area with our family for a long time, but recent events certainly do not speed up the possibility of traveling.
Looking at your photos you want to throw everything, collect your bags and go on a trip to this paradise. Fiji certainly shakes its untouched nature and original culture. As for snakes and sharks, it seems to me that they frighten all island and Asian countries. Personally, we were frightened when they were going to India and Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. It is therefore not surprising that the same bikes go about Fiji.
I feel a sense of delight and pride when I read such travel stories and they feature meetings with our compatriots. Just think, on the most remote corners of the earth.
Of course, Fiji does not shine with the wealth of the population and expensive houses. Here you will not meet glamorous megacities and thousands of people hurrying about their affairs, but for this we are striving for this kind of place. To take a break from the city rush and enjoy the silence of nature. Feel the slowness of being and the magnificence of the ocean. Dissolve in this splendor and like a phoenix rising from the ashes, to regain freedom and your life.

Nature is certainly gorgeous, you can see paradise on earth right away, I would love to visit this wonderful place. Judging by the photos, the author has a lot of positive emotions, from visiting this place. It should be noted that not a single photo with bad weather is probably a coincidence. It is a pity that poverty hides behind this natural beauty. The life of a simple local resident is of course very poor, and photos are in confirmation. The low standard of living is good for our tourist)))))))))) That's where it's time to do everything included, and then this Turkey is already tired. We would show the local what a holiday is. By the way, I noticed that they have roads, much better than in some regions of Russia.)) I do not want to believe it !!)))
Of course, the author was lucky with the rest, especially tempting me that no sightseeing buses, with their legs everywhere, this is the most interesting! You go wherever you want, you communicate with the locals, you taste the local food, but you just need to stock up on the mezime, this food is hardly us accustomed to! It is a pity that I was ordered to travel abroad !!! I fell in love with this place. It only remains to watch other people's photo reports, read stunning stories and present yourself in their place!
